FINAL CONCERT OF ERI KLAS AS CHIEF CONDUCTOR

On July 5th in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Eri Klas conducted

his last concert as chief conductor of the NRSO.

The programme featured, among others, the ninth symphony by Shostakovich.

All musicians on stage wore corsages, adding a festive cachet to the occasion.

After the concert an informal reception was held in the green room.

Eri was greeted with the Estonian national anthem and several fanfares

performed by the NRSO's brass-section conducted by Conrad van Alphen.

MCO-director Ben Janssen held a short speech in praise of the departing chief-conductor.

Then Eri was surprised by a gift from the members of the orchestra: a nicely painted Friesian clock.

After Eri had expressed his gratitude, NRSO-manager Henk Smit rounded off the official part.

Then the glasses were raised under the motto:

We"ll meet again!

CityRun HILVERSUM

On the 6th of april six runners of the Society of musicians of the RSO

(team: "Radio Symfonie Orkest")

competed in the "Businessrun",

wearing specially designed T-shirts promoting the RSO.

Two runners ran the "Prestatieloop", which took place at the same time.

10 km had to be covered.

At 13.30 pm they started together with 435 more runners at the Kerkbrink in Hilversum.

The wind was cool, but the sun came out occasionally.

Our runners were pleasantly surprised by the cheers of some RSO-collegues, who appeared at unexpected moments.

26 business-teams were at the start,

18 teams reached the finish with a minimum of 4 runners,

and the RSO-team finished on 8th place!
